Why: Morning Squeeze is an excellent name for a brunchery/bar. I am in love with the name alone. And the food, very awesome. I’ve been to this restaurant a few times and have enjoyed a Monte Cristo (for the first time in my life) and the N.Y. Steak and Eggs. The atmosphere is fun and friendly and seating is quick. Bright colors and excellent interior decorating give this restaurant an outdoor party/cookout feel. Also, the staff at this establishment are conversational, jubilant, and attentive. The outdoor seating and bar make this restaurant a must if you’re craving breakfast or lunch.
Besides the festive atmosphere, the food is incredible. Definitely grab a glass of their orange juice and don’t be picky about the menu; there’s a lot of amazing items on there.
I’d never had a Monte Cristo until I went to the Morning Squeeze. Not being a huge fan of sugar, I don’t really like jams or jellies (Monte Cristos come with grape jelly for dipping or smearing) and fried foods don’t always sit well with anyone’s heart. But I wanted to try something I always heard was delicious and scrumptious. It was a great choice.
The batter that was fried around the sandwich was crispy and light. The cheese inside was melted (always a must) and the meats didn’t taste very salty. I even enjoyed the mixture of the grape jelly on the sandwich! Just as a note, I abused PB+J when I was in first grade, ate it every day. Grape jelly has been a hard condiment for me to enjoy since then. The semi-salt of the meats mixed with the jelly and the fluffy/crunchy outside was a heavenly combination.
If you’re watching you’re weight, make sure to eat this on a cheat day. However, the restaurant offers great sides like cottage cheese and fruit instead of traditional fries; something I find refreshing and a much better option. I also thoroughly encourage the N.Y. Steak and Eggs. I found the breakfast filled but not stuffing. I didn’t feel like I was going to explode after and I felt like I covered all the breakfast/brunch bases: proteins, carbs, fruits. The steak was cooked just the way I asked, the eggs were fluffy, the hash browns were not overly buttery or greasy, and the fruit was crisp and fresh. Hit all your breakfast favorites on this menu and definitely check out these two dishes.
